Another component of the novel that has been whittled down and clarified... My latest Query Letter.
Wish me luck!

Dear [AGENT],
DIZZY is the first person narrative of a girl whose costume wings secretly fly.
My middle-grade, 28,500-word novel begins a week after Halloween, just outside of Boston. Emily receives black costume wings from her dad, who found them in the lost package pile at his FedEx nightshift. While Dad naps, Emily discovers the magic, practices, and then soars through the sky with ease, even saving a boy from drowning. When footage of the rescue goes viral, the mystery flyer becomes headline news, and Furlong, the magician who lost the wings, investigates. Soon Emily must reveal her secrets to protect her family, and battle powerful magic that she may never escape.
DIZZY subplots involve the science of a friend’s mutant garden, the redemption of a school bully, and the reaction to a newborn brother. Above all, the story is plot-driven with a quick pace and plenty of action.
Personally, my published works include a weekly parenting column, travel reviews, flash-fiction, memoir and more. Even worked a bit at FedEx.
Below are [AGENT'S SUBMISSION SPECS]. My completed manuscript awaits your request. Thanks!
Best,
Ryan P. Standley
